Mission Statement
CCA MISSION: Carlisle Climate Action (CCA) was started by Carlisle, Massachusetts residents in 2007 to raise awareness about the imminent dangers of global warming and climate change, to promote actions by citizens, groups, and our town government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and develop sustainable practices throughout the town of Carlisle, and to encourage the passage of state and federal legislation that accomplishes the same goals.
Standard Operating Procedures
1. The Steering Committee is defined as four officers (Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary) plus a group of up to 11 other regular meeting attendees (‘regular’ defined as having attended at least half of the meetings in a year) for a total of up to 15 members on the Steering Committee.
2. Decisions will be made by vote on substantive matters e.g. CCA positions regarding town, state or national issues, expenditures of CCA funds, elections of officers & Steering Committee members.
3. Voting quorum will be 5 Steering Committee members. Majority vote rules.
4. Meeting and vote notification: Meetings will be posted on the CCA website and in the Mosquito. Steering Committee members will be notified via email of the time and place of a vote and discussion time will be provided prior to a vote.
5. Phone-in voting procedure may be used when a voting quorum is not present at a meeting, and a vote cannot be postponed. A phone in vote will be on speaker phone and witnessed by attendees.
6. Email votes may be used when a meeting is not possible and a vote cannot be delayed. All Steering Committee members will receive the same clear and discrete statement of information (motion) of what is being voted on. Dates and times are set for the start and end of the email vote. No email motion may be approved by less than a majority of the voting quorum of the Steering Committee. Email vote results will be distributed to the Steering Committee at the end of the voting period and will be recorded in the minutes of the next regular meeting.
7. No dues will be assessed but donations will be gratefully accepted.
